What's Goin' On

A Song from Prince

” “With This Tear” is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard or felt… Thank you for the honor”; Celine expressed these words of thanks to Prince on the 1992 album ‘Celine Dion’.

The single “Beauty and the Beast” was released four months prior to the release of the album ‘Celine Dion’ and it became an instant hit. The word is that  it’s after hearing this legendary movie theme on the radio that Prince wanted to write a song for Celine.

“With This Tear” is one of the last songs recorded for the album ‘Celine Dion’ stealing a spot on the album which was originally reserved for “Calling You” from the film ‘Bagdad Cafe’, which Celine regularly sang in concert at the time.

Celine recorded “With This Tear” at the Studio Morin Heights on René’s 50th birthday, January 16, 1992.

“Céline pour les enfants” 2016th edition

Celine will give a benefit concert in Trois-Rivières, Québec at the Amphithéâtre Cogeco on August 30, 2016.

This will be the third installment of the “Céline pour les enfants” special concert events for the Fondation Céline Dion which is a non-profit organization that supports various charitable organizations and foundations with a special focus on helping sick or underprivileged children.

Celine invites Andre-Philippe Gagnon

Celine is pleased to announce that she has chosen Andre-Philippe Gagnon as a special guest to open her shows this summer in Paris, Montreal and Quebec City.

Andre-Philippe has been the opening act of several of Celine’s shows in the past and was a triumph each time: in Europe, the United States, and Canada during the “Let’s Talk About Love” tour in 1998.

Celine and René always enjoyed the exceptional talent of Andre-Philippe, and Andre-Philippe has kept  these unforgettable  memories as a highlight of his career.

Celine Puts Show Business Career On Hold For Her Health And Family Reasons

Montreal, August 13th – Celine Dion has decided to postpone all of her show business activities indefinitely, in order to focus 100% of her attention on her husband Rene, their family, and associated health issues. Since Rene’s surgery last December to remove a cancerous tumor, it’s been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children.

Celine has also been fighting an illness that has caused inflammation in her throat muscles, and has not been able to perform any of her scheduled shows in Las Vegas since her last show on July 29th. She has still not recovered from this condition.

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.” said Celine

During this hiatus, Celine will cancel her shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace until further notice. She will also cancel her tour of Asia, previously scheduled for the fall of this year.

Celine and family have requested that their privacy be respected at this time.
