2002 was a great year for Celine! After a two-year hiatus, she came back with a chart-topping album ‘A New Day Has Come’, television appearances all over the world and preparations for her spectacular new show A NEW DAY… We recently asked TeamCeline members what was their favorite Celine moment of 2002. The response was amazing and we wanted to share some of these entries with you… The TeamCeline members who submitted the following great accounts will receive a copy of the single that started it all - “A New Day Has Come”.
My favorite Celine moment of 2002 was when she stuck her gum under the
wooden table on "The View". This incident had my laughing hysterically,
and really showed casual fans Celine's comedian side.

J'étais situé près de la scène. D'où j'étais,
on pouvait voir l'arrière-scène. Lorsque Celine arrive, avant
d'interpréter A New Day Has Come, je lui ai fait un signe de la main et
elle m'a répondu. C'est mon plus merveilleux souvenir cette année.
It was when Celine left the press conference in La Louvière (October
21). When she passed the crowd, she got out of her car to give signatures. A few
minutes later I was able to hand over this huge world cup from the Belgian fan
club to her and looking surprised she said "C'est pour moi??". That
was so sweet!!!
En mars 2002, j'étais à Toronto pour études. Celine
y est venue pour une interview. J'ai eu la chance de l'apercevoir pour quelques
minutes. C'était un moment magique : j'en ai oublié le froid glacial.
C'est mon plus beau moment de fan et mon plus beau souvenir du Canada.
Celine has been my favorite artist for some time now; but this past year,
2002, has been especially special for me. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in
1999 and since then have been volunteering at our local Susan G. Komen Foundation
(Race for the Cure) office. We planned a celebration for all breast cancer survivors
at our semi-pro baseball park with our main theme being "I’m Alive".
We formed a pink ribbon on the field with our survivors listening to Celine
sing her song with the words on a huge video screen for all to sing along with
us. I still get tears and goose bumps every time I hear the song. God bless Celine---glad
to have you back with us.
My favorite moment was Celine on Oprah. She was so vibrant and refreshed.
René-Charles was with her and the moment with him crawling on the stage
and Celine speaking to René-Charles in French was priceless! She
was beaming with pride. You could just feel her excitement!
My favorite moment was when Celine was going to sit down on stage and she
didn't want the audience to look up her dress, she fooled around with them by
telling them to look the other way. It showed everyone that Celine loves
to make people laugh.
When I saw Celine giving an interview to E! Entertainment TV, I realized
she’s more than a wonderful singer: she’s an authentic, funny and great
woman. As I live in Venezuela, it’s hard to get news about her. That moment
gave me an opportunity to know her as a human being.
I love the Vivement Dimanche show broadcast in March 2002… When Celine
met with Hughes Auffray after he had sung Dis Moi Celine, she was so emotional
and had to have a kleenex for ages to wipe away the tears. That is the wonderful
sensitive side of Celine… she is amazing.
My personal favorite Celine moment of 2002 is when I met Celine
by accident in NYC on June 2, 2002 outside CNN studios. I talked to her for a
second or two and when I turned to walk away I walked into a pole!! She was laughing,
I was laughing, even René was laughing.
