Nevada Ballet Theatre Honors "Woman of the Year" Celine Dion at Caesars Palace

The Black & White Ball is Sponsored by Cartier and Wells Fargo

Blessed with one of popular music's most celebrated voices, she has become the world's top-selling female recording artist. She is...the one and only Celine Dion and Nevada Ballet Theatre's "Woman of the Year" for 2004.
Dion will be honored at an elegant gala on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Nevada Ballet Theatre's annual Black & White Ball in the Palace Ballroom at Caesars Palace, an event recognized as the highlight of Las Vegas' social season.

The Black & White Ball is Nevada Ballet Theatre's largest fundraiser. Each year the event honors a prominent "Woman of the Year," who has made a significant contribution to the performing arts, especially dance, and also has a connection to Las Vegas.

More than a thousand people, including major companies and arts patrons, are expected to attend this year's ball.
Celine Dion had a smashing debut this year in Las Vegas with the opening of her show, "A New Day..." at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Her show presents a groundbreaking form of entertainment - a unique combination of song, performance art, theatrical innovation and modern technology. The show was created by theatrical innovator, Franco Dragone, the imaginative spirit behind ten of the critically acclaimed productions by Cirque du Soleil.
With "A New Day...," Dion committed to a minimum three-year contract and made the Las Vegas valley her home. She performs for sold-out audiences of visitors and locals five nights a week.
"Las Vegas is a fantastic city and is truly the heart of show business," said Dion. "This show has given me the opportunity to perform a more visually exciting show in front of international audiences nightly as well as spend time with my family."
Nevada Ballet Theatre honors this amazing woman, and hopes that her success in the arts and entertainment industry will encourage people to take part in the emerging cultural arts within the Las Vegas area.
This year's honorary chair of the Black and White Ball is Jacqueline Juliano, wife of Mark Juliano, president of Caesars Palace. Mr. and Mrs. Juliano relocated to Las Vegas with their five children and have encouraged their daughter to take part in the premier performing arts programs of Nevada Ballet Theatre. The couple has taken a personal interest in the performing arts program of Nevada Ballet Theatre.
Generously sponsored by Cartier and Wells Fargo, Nevada Ballet Theatre's Black & White Ball will feature a four-course gourmet menu and dancing to an ensemble orchestra. In addition to the celebrity tribute to Celine Dion, there will be a performance by NBT dancers, including principals Kyu Dong Kwak and Natalia Chapourskaya.
Proceeds from the evening will allow Nevada Ballet Theatre to continue to provide first-rate stage performances and dynamic educational and outreach programs to ensure that dance is available to everyone in Nevada.
