Celine Dion sets the record for the highest charting Francophone single on the Canadian (English) CHR Audience chart in BDS history
September 17, 2003 -- Sony Music superstar Celine Dion made radio history yesterday when her new single "Tout l'or des hommes," established the record for becoming the highest charting Francophone single on the National (English) CHR Audience chart in the BDS era. "Tout l'or des hommes" reached #5 on the English CHR Audience Chart and is the first single from 1 fille & 4 types, Celine's first French album in five years. 1 fille & 4 types will be released on October 14, 2003.
Jacques Veneruso wrote the music and lyrics for "Tout l'or des hommes." Veneruso is best known for the memorable song "Sous le vent," which was performed as a duet by Celine Dion and Garou. "Tout l'or des hommes" offers up a message of love and hope, a kind of rallying song for all those who love one another despite the devastating dramas and wars tearing the world apart. Set against a touching and energizing melody, the lyrics are naturally magnified by Celine's incomparable voice.
1 fille & 4 types reunites Celine Dion with Jean-Jacques Goldman, the power behind such recordings as D'Eux (1995) and S'il suffisait d'aimer (1998). During the recording of 1 fille & 4 types, Goldman surround Celine with three different writer-composers who have made their mark on the French music scene, Jacques Veneruso, Erick Benzi and master guitarist Gildas Arzel. The voice of one or other of these incomparable artists accompanies Celine's performance throughout the album, produced by Benzi and guided by Goldman from start to finish.
During her spectacular career Celine Dion has sold a combined total of over 160 million albums. She is a 5 time Grammy Award winner, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for Falling Into You (1996); and Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "My Heart Will Go On" (1998). Her recordings have won two Academy Awards: Best Original Song From A Film in 1992 for the title song of Beauty and the Beast (with Peabo Bryson), and the second in 1998 for "My Heart Will Go On" (From Titanic). She has earned five American Music Awards and 20 Juno Awards and an Astonishing 39 Felix Awards (Quebec). The viewers of VH1 made Celine Dion their Artist of The Year in 1996, and voted her Best Female Artist and Diva of The Year in 1998.
