Celine Dion sweeps the charts! 'Taking Chances' claims the number one positions on radio and sales charts

International superstar Celine Dion enchants Canadian audiences and dominates the charts as she takes the top position on both the Nielsen SoundScan Top 200 and Digital Album Charts with her brand new studio album Taking Chances. This week, the single "Taking Chances" also reaches number one at radio in Quebec (Le Palmarès Top 100 Anglophone chart) and #1 at radio nationally on the Nielsen BDS and Mediabase Mainstream AC Charts.

This latest #1 SoundScan debut follows the #1 debut of Celine's French-language album, D'elles, in May of this year, garnering Celine the two highest sales entries in Canada (for two different albums) so far this year - an unprecedented achievement in Canadian SoundScan history.

Celine Dion sets out in a bold new creative direction with Taking Chances, perhaps the most personal and revelatory collection of songs and performances in her fabled career. On December 15th, 2007, Celine Dion's record breaking engagement of A NEW DAY... at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, ends its remarkable journey of five consecutive years of sold-out performances, playing to nearly 3 million people. She embarks on her Taking Chances World Tour with stops in Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe, before returning to the US and Canada in summer 2008.

Celine Dion was recently bestowed the 2007 World Music Awards' - Legend Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music - honouring "a top recording artist in recognition of their global success and outstanding contribution to the music industry."
