Corey Hart, the rock musician best known for his hit songs "Sunglasses at Night" and "Never Surrender," has occasionally contributed to Celine's albums. He wrote and produced two songs on Celine's 'Let's Talk About Love' album - "Miles To Go (Before I Sleep)" and "Where Is The Love". He also wrote "Prayer" from the album 'A New Day Has Come'. In 1999, Corey appeared as a special guest on Celine's 'Let's Talk About Love' World Tour.

On this day in 1996, Celine performed "The Power Of The Dream" at the opening ceremonies for the XXVI Summer Olympics in Atlanta, USA. Written and produced by some of the biggest names in music, David Foster, Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds and Linda Thompson, this song pays tribute to the strong will, strength and determination of the Olympic athletes. Former American President Bill Clinton had insisted that Celine be the one to perform this very special song. In 1985, Celine lent her voice to the recording of the song "Les yeux de la faim" along with many other artists from Quebec, including Jean-Pierre Ferland, Marie-Michèle Desrosiers, Marjo and Gilles Vigneault. Written and composed by Gil Courtemanche and Jean Robitaille, profits from the sale of this single went to the Quebec-Africa Foundation, to aid people facing famine in Africa.

'Concours d'Élégance Le Mirage' Competition

The 2nd edition of the 'Concours d'Élégance Le Mirage' in partnership with the 'Classique Internationale de Blainville' will be held on July 16, 17, and 18 in Quebec. This competition that unites more than a hundred collector cars is organized to raise funds for the André-Delambre Foundation. This Foundation whose Board of Directors is headed by is by René, fights against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis- also called Lou Gehrig's disease.

On this day in 2006, a special charity event, 'Céline pour les enfants' (Celine for the Children) was held at 'Le Mirage' golf course in Quebec. Over 600 guests attended this day-long event that included a golf tournament, dinner and silent auction followed by performances by Celine, Garou and Marc Dupré. The event raised an incredible 1.5 million dollars, which was donated to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation and the Celine Dion Foundation.

Today, in Montreal, the 26th edition of L'International des Feux Loto Québec presented by TELUS, in collaboration with La Ronde, will pay tribute to Celine. New this year, to this annual fireworks competition is "Feux des étoiles", a pyromusical extravaganza which pays tribute to exceptional artists; and Celine is the first to be honoured. To attend this event, get your tickets right away. L'International des Feux Loto Québec is the most prestigious fireworks competition in the world. In 1981, a demo recorded by Celine reached Quebec music entrepreneur René Angélil. The demo included "Ce n'était qu'un rêve" (It Was Only A Dream), a song written by Celine's mother, her brother Jacques and Celine herself. René was immediately taken by the beautiful voice he heard on the tape and soon financed the recording of her debut album, 'La voix du Bon Dieu' (The Voice of God). The first single off the album was "Ce n'était qu'un rêve". A live version of the song is included in the "Medley Acoustique" on Celine's live album, 'Au Coeur du Stade' and the original studio version is included on 'On ne change pas'.
