Simplement Marnay – Reviews + Photos from winners Josée: Translated from French Thanks to Céline’s Fan Club, I had the chance to win tickets to attend “Simplement Marnay.” When I arrived at the Maison de la Culture, there was a long red carpet. To my surprise, when I arrived at the entrance lobby, I saw M. Angélil at the other end of the hall. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I immediately told my fiancé “hurry up, we have to go see him.” When we arrived next to him, I realized he was talking to people regarding the show. He had to go back because Céline would be arriving soon. I asked him if I could take a photo with him. I was very happy when he proudly said yes. I would have loved to tell him that I would like to meet Céline, who is my idol, and that I won tickets through her fan club, but I was so emotional that I couldn’t speak. He shook my hand and left. A little later, it was Céline’s turn to make her entrance. There was a lot of security and we couldn’t stay to see her coming in. They closed the doors to the public, but through a window I could see her enter with her father and mother. She went to a room for a press conference I think. We then went to our seats in the 8th row, to the left. We were very well situated. We also got the chance to meet the other winner, Lise, and her husband who were seated next to us. The concert began and the set was superb. There was a beautiful large frame displaying photos of Eddy Marnay’s life. Mario Pelchat was the first to perform an Eddy Marnay song and he sung it acapella. It was truly beautiful. The concert was going by fast, but I couldn’t wait for Céline to arrive on stage. Other artists performed songs that Céline has sung during her career. Céline’s parents were seated in the crowd and seemed moved to be there and to relive their daughter’s journey. Suddenly, Céline made a spectacular entrance! She came out of the frame where the photos were being displayed. There was smoke. When she started to sing, I got goosebumps. I could see her very close by and her voice was more beautiful then ever. She sang two jazz songs as well. I didn’t know she had such a talent for that type of music. I hope she will include some in her next albums. Céline had the words to say it all about Eddy Marnay. She really made us feel like he was among us and it was as if we all knew him. At the end of the show, people started to leave. When we saw Maman and Papa Dion signing autographs, we went over to see them to shake their hand and to tell them that they have an exceptionnal daughter. Thanks again to TeamCeline! Without you, I would not have had the chance to attend this beautiful evening! Once again thank you!!!
