August 2005 Winner I will never forget the evening of 5 March, 2006. Several months earlier I received an email informing me I had won the monthly Team Celine contest, which included two VIP tickets to see A New Day… in Las Vegas and the opportunity to meet Celine before the show. This was a dream come true! On the evening of the performance, my friend James and I arrived at the magnificent Colosseum at Caesars Palace where we were met and taken backstage to meet Celine before the show. My excitement had begun the moment I received the initial email, and here we were only minutes (and metres!) away from meeting Celine! As we made our way through the backstage area, the dancers were warming up for the performance. We were shown to a beautiful room where we were offered drinks while we waited for Celine. The moment we would meet Celine was drawing closer, and my excitement was at fever pitch. We could hear people speaking in French outside the room, and although I do not speak French, I suddenly heard a voice that I recognised! The moment Celine walked in the room was like meeting a friend you have known for years. She was everything that I had imagined she would be - very friendly, warm, funny, even more beautiful in person, and genuinely interested in meeting us. During the time we were with her, we had the opportunity to ask her questions and she autographed a copy of the A New Day… program for each of us. We were also lucky enough to have photographs taken with her, which gave us a lasting memory of this special night. Celine was also appreciative of a gift that we had bought from Australia for Rene-Charles. As we said our good-byes, we still had the spectacular performance of A New Day…. to look forward to. We were shown to our seats, which were the centre seats in the front row - they could have not been better! Within minutes of taking our seats Celine appeared on stage and her voice filled the Colosseum. Over the next ninety minutes we felt as if we were the only two people in the Colosseum and that Celine was performing only for us. The show was spectacular thanks to Celine, the dancers, backing singers, technicians and people behind the scenes that all contribute to making A New Day… the wonderful show that it is. This was an experience of a lifetime and from the moment I received the initial email through to the final curtain, we were treated like VIP's which made this such a special and memorable experience. For those of you who dream of meeting Celine - it can happen! I never expected that I would be lucky enough to win the monthly Team Celine competition, but it did happen. |

May 2005 Winner The concert and meet and greet with Celine were awesome. First, my daughter and I were ushered to a waiting room where we were to meet Celine. When she walked through the door, my first words were "Oh my!" It was hard to believe that we were actually face to face with her. She was dressed for the concert in her red dress and looked so beautiful. My daughter conversed with Celine in French, which was really fun for me to hear. Then Celine said something to me in French and I, totally flustered said, "Not me!" We had our picture taken and then all too soon where ushered to our front row and center seats in the Colosseum. Celine and company put on a fantastic show. The energy produced by Celine and the dancers was unmistakable. We loved and sang all the songs. We were on our feet when she sang "I'm Alive." During the show she would wink or smile at us. We felt really special. At the end of the show, one of the dancers gave Celine a rose which she walked down from the stage and gave to us along with a hug! What an experience! Thank you so much for the opportunity! It was one night we will never forget." |
