October 2004 Winner I still can’t believe how lucky I was to have the chance to meet my idol Celine and I feel that the story that I’m about to share is just a dream that I had! When I went to Las Vegas for the first time in 2004 I had the feeling that I would go back one day for something even ‘bigger.’ A short time later, I learned that I had won the opportunity to meet Celine through the TeamCeline monthly contest! When I went back to Las Vegas on October 25, 2006, I felt so happy to see all the advertisements for Celine’s show, The Colosseum, and the Boutique. I was excited; most of all, to once again attend the magnificent show A New Day... it was truly unforgettable. I won tickets for the October 28th performance, but I also attended the show on October 26th and 27th. The show is getting more and more amazing and Celine moves me each time, even though I have been following her career for 10 years! On Saturday the 28th, after a night without getting any sleep because I was too excited, I went down in front of the Box Office to meet one of Celine’s assistants! There was a group from Quebec there so I chatted with some of them until the assistant took us backstage and led us inside the Colosseum and into the room where my dream was about to become true! After a couple of minutes spent talking and laughing with the Quebecers and the photo/video crew, the door opened and like an angel, I saw Celine come in! I thought that my heart was about to stop beating! She came toward me smiling and said in Italian: “Ciao bello!” and then we kissed and hugged. What a feeling! What a warm and wonderful greeting! We took photos together, talked a little, but the time I had to spend with her flew by. I realized that I didn’t say everything I planned to. She was so sweet and so nice; it’s hard to explain in words. I was happy because it confirmed what I thought; she was a huge star but still a normal woman and that’s why I adore her! After we met Celine, we went to our seats. We had amazing seats: AA 410-411 first row! Incredible! The performance was perfect, Celine’s voice powerful, clear and moving as usual. She looked at me right in the eyes several times during the show. It’s very hard to choose the song that I liked the most, but I think the best moments of the night were “The Power of Love, “I Surrender” and “I Drove All Night,” when Celine’s voice was at its most powerful and in harmony with the choreography of the dancers. |
