On This Day...

2012/07/09 3:00AM Canada (English)

On this day, in 2003, Celine performed on stage alongside several other Quebec artists in Gatineau, Quebec for a special tribute concert to legendary French songwriter Eddy Marnay. Eddy Marnay wrote the first songs that Celine recorded and they made five albums together. Among the songs that Eddy Marnay wrote for Celine are “Tellement j’ai d’amour pour toi”, which won the gold medal at the 1982 Yamaha Music Festival in Tokyo, and “D’amour ou d’amitié”, a song that made Celine the first Canadian artist to receive a gold record in France; the song sold over 700,000 copies. Celine and René named one of their twin boys, Eddy in honour of the famous songwriter, who was also a close friend.

Wow, he's an amazing writer, and I love her albums before incognito, because they show how young her voice sounded.
She was young, but her young voice was mature.
I also remember hearing them when I was helping out a French class learn French.
That's when I heard that Celine speaks French as her native language like me, so I lookt up her albums on wicapidea, and I found her French from when she was 12 to 20, and I feel in love with each of them.
Then I also listened to her other French albums as well.
Her voice changes through all of her albums, especially her French albums.

Eu adoro as musicas que Marnay escreveu para Celine!

I love the songs that Marnay wrote for Celine!

Thank you Eddy Marnay♥
