After seeing both shows, AND and Celine, it's hard to choose which one is better! They are very different! I have to say that I am leaning toward Celine!! I like, enjoy the simplicity of Celine! So much more personal. I hope she will add a few new songs over the years. Can't wait to go back!

How can you not love this woman!

I'm not happy about it. She wasted 10 years in Las Vegas. I agree with Javier, Immortalreason and Immortality.

Jordy, you are talking about the past. The album "Falling into you" was released in 1996. The album "Taking chances" was released in 2007 and the album "A new day has come" was released in 2002
I love those albums but the problem is that she never sings songs from those albums (She always sings the same songs: It's all coming back to me now - Because you loved me - River deep mountain high, love can move mountains, My heart will go on, etc...)
SHE ALWAYS SINGS THE SAME SONGS. WE JUST WANT HER TO SING OTHER SONGS AND WE WANT HER TO STOP SINGING COVERS ALL THE TIME.

Water from the moon
Think twice
When I fall in love

Then you look at me
I want you to need me

Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour

Céline IS reinventing herself: 'Taking chances' was a kind of rock-album, 'A new day has come' was theatrical, 'Falling into you' was a real pop-album, this show is more classic with the dresses and entourage, and she changes her look with that too.

That Céline is singing so many covers is probably because of the fact that there are not over 4000 Celine-fans in Las Vegas every day. She must reach a big audience, so the show is suitable for everyone.

And my personal opinion is that I love to see and hear Céline as an artist and singer, no matter what the songs she's singing. I do love the repertoire in the show with some real showstoppers. She shows her allroundness with jazz (Mr Paganini), rocky (the Reason, Open arms), ballads and own material. Though I think she can use the big orchestra a little more. The amazing Soul medley (with I gotta feeling and It's a mans world) from the Taking chances tour is great!

Another fantasy is to hear (and see) her doing 'Tell him' live again. Also perfect with the big orchestra and a hologram of Barbara Streisand gives the ultimate Las Vegas-feeling! Let's hope her (show) producers read along with us, because sometimes fans really do have some brilliant ideas Wink

Love from Holland

I am very glad that I can say - I've been there on March 16. I saw the show for the 4.time and I must say this one was very special. I would say that this was really a Party. Celine seemed relaxed. Her voice sounded more powerful than ever and she sang the high notes stronger than ever. 'All by myself' sounds so great, also 'The Reason' , 'Beauty and the beast' and so on ....... As I saw the show on march 13 it was so very emotional for me -I couldn't hold my tears away, but this time at the last show in this part and the 10.Anniversary of the Colloseum ( and of Celine at the Colloseum how I think ) it has just been fun- a great party and nice to see that she felt really good. Thank you very much,Celine, for a big present to our 28-th wedding anniversary!

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH "JAVIER" AND "IMMORTALREASON"

I WISH CELINE WERE LIKE MADONNA. ALWAYS REINVENTING HERSELF

This is great!!!
However, I have to partly agree with ImmortalReason.
I am a hardcore Celine fan and I am always doing researches on new/old songs of hers and really love when I find something on YouTube that I haven't heard before . BUT it's the first time that I am going to Las Vegas and was so very much looking forward to her show (I still am) but I was kind of shocked when I learned that Celine is hardly singing any of her own songs anymore. Especially because my family is going with me and my parents would prefer to hear her former songs and don't like to come to her show and hear someone else's songs. This makes me wish that I would have been able to see "A new day". Please don't get me wrong......
I am so excited and can't wait for this summer to come but to at least hear "I drove all night", "I'm alive", "Taking Chances" or some French song of hers (they are the best) would have been nice.
As one of you guys already mentioned.... She offers a new side and also attracts the attention from people who are not aware of her guts but for those who are coming for the first time
(not everyone is able to afford travelling back and forth every now and then) it is NOT the ideal thing.
"Tell him" would be soooo great because my patents do really like this song, so I can just agree on that one but she has many more songs which would definately fit into that show and would offer the best of both worlds. Though they are not the ones that I mentioned before. Anyway, we will see. It's still not too late. Let's just keep our fingers crossed. Smile Nevertheless, they have definately improved when it comes to outfits and those kind of things (as far as I can tell without haven't seen it yet.)
And who knows how long she is staying in Vegas... Maybe she is doing a world tour and coming to Europe so I can see her again. Smile

It was 10 years since the premiere of 'A New Day'.
It was a magical show.

Great picture!!! Beautiful Celine<3<3

Congratulations Celine, Congratulations Colosseum Smile

My dream is to go to Vegas to watch Celine's show at the Colosseum, I hope that one day that dream becomes a reality.

From Celine's point of view, this is great to perform at the Caesars Palace as there is everything she needs. By the way I always have very strong objections if we have the right to expect more than she gives us. Don't forget Celine is the mother of three boys, she cannot be on world tour all the time... Visiting "5 continents, 23 countries, and 93 cities" isn't something you can do every year.

Javier, I get what you're saying. On the one hand, I imagine that many of the people who see Celine's show in Vegas after the initial opening months of hype and advance sales are casual fans and droppers-in who generally know the hits and will complain if they hear too much that they're not that familiar with.

On the other hand, the tours tend to stick to the same script. Madonna, for instance, actually tours the album she's promoting at that time. Which means you can expect about 10 new songs, a bunch of reworked previous hits, and maybe a surprise or two in song choice. It stays fresh by re-imagining the old while showcasing the new. Sadly a lot of people don't want to grow with the artists they claim to love, and would rather listen to them do, say, a medley of It's All Coming Back To Me Now and Because You Loved Me that hasn't skipped a beat in a decade.

If I had my druthers, Celine's show would be more fluid in the sense that, yes, the usual hits would be included because they sort of have to be, and when you have a show that's set in one place, you need to have a secure draw to lure people in, and they love "The Titanic Song" as most laymen refer to it. But she could randomly throw in surprises like an acoustic, intimate take on The Last To Know, or a mashup of Sorry For Love and Shadow Of Love, something out of left field that would delight the hardcore fans and introduce some new elements for people who don't know her catalog as well. I was shocked when the new show began in 2011 and they actually included The Reason and Where Does My Heart Beat Now, especially the latter since she seemed to forget she ever recorded it for a while there. It's also surprising that she doesn't really turn to That's The Way It Is, though she often performed it in a lower key to protect her voice, and when it's taken down a step, a lot of the energy is sucked out so it's just as well. So my ideal Celine show would have the signature songs, but every few weeks, trade out one or two obscure album cuts for one or two others.

Even so, Celine's show is a visual extravaganza, no expense is spared, and she's the utmost professional every night she gets on that stage, and always has been. I admire her energy and commitment to filling up that theater every night and I hope she continues to draw them in!

Unbelievable - 10 years already! I'm so glad I've been there at least for once in this amazing Colosseum Smile

"Her 847th performance" in that place... you say it as if it was a great landmark in her career, but Las Vegas has only brought stagnation to her career. If only ONE of those 847 shows had been with different songs she has never performed... but she has sang 847 times the same 15-20 songs for 10 years! I don't see that as a landmark, but something exhausting Sad

Hush now... I see a light in the sky! A New Day Will Come

WOW!!!!!! <3 <3 Laughing out loud Smile ;D

Congratulations Celine! It's been ten years of redefining entertainment on the Las Vegas strip for the better, and the fans couldn't be more proud of the way you've raised the bar for everyone else.
