Celine On Billboard Top 50 ‘Love’ Songs Of All time

2013/02/22 4:00AM Canada (English)

Last week Billboard magazine compiled a list of the top 50 “love” songs of all time. This list referenced songs with the word “love” in their titles and based the ranking on the Billboard Hot 100 charts from 1958 to today. Celine appeared twice on the list: she landed the number 13 spot with “Because You Loved Me” and then again at number 40 with “The Power of Love”. What do you think, what other Celine song with the word “love” in its title should have made this list?

To love you more

Congratulation Céline,
I think these songs should be on the top 50 love songs; THE REASON, MY LOVE, SORRY FOR LOVE.
p.s. Waiting for your new album with anticipation.

To the Celine Dion team:

Thank you for all of the work you do on a daily basis to promote Celine Dion and her career. I have been a longtime follower of this impeccably talented woman and will continue to be regardless of the direction of her career's future. I own all of Celine Dion's recordings and have seen her perform live numerous times. I am a member of outside Celine Dion fan forums but I find it necessary to post on her official site to make sure the voice of her core fan base is heard. Please pass this message on to whoever can get it in the hands of those making decisions. I am an educated individual who lives in the United States with outside perspective regarding Celine Dion's English career. I am a representation of her core fan base but I also have an open mind to Celine's place with the general public.

My concern is with the future of Celine Dion's English career. Like so many others, I have been thrilled with the success of Sans Attendre and I am actually pleased that the release of her current English project has been postponed in order to further promote the French record and also to solidify the English project. I hope that the promotion of Sans Attendre does, in fact, continue. We hope for more music videos but, most importantly, we hope for more live performances of the incredible songs on Sans Attendre.

With that said, the upcoming English album is vital for Celine Dion's longevity. If she does plan to remain in Las Vegas, for instance, and sell out that enormous concert hall, she has to remain -- to some extent -- in the general public's consciousness. Water and A Flame, or whatever the upcoming album's title will be, should be comprised of all that has made Celine Dion who she is today. It should encompass her strongest assets -- as is most present on her English release Falling Into You and her French release D'eux. Those albums highlighted tremendous range in Celine Dion's vocals. And they also came with surprises. The new English album must have surprises and a sort of ease and improv (i.e. the ends of the songs Call The Man and Je Crois Toi and most recently, Moi quand je pleure). A big fear among fans is that the English album will be predictable, like this middle-of-the road, totally predictable and dated Unfinished Songs. This song should not be included on the English album. It is the polar opposite of where her English career should be headed. Celine's voice is strong on this track and it might be suitable to the film it accompanies, but it will not help to sell another seat at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in the years to come -- and Celine and Diane Warren are capable of much stronger material.

Like with Sans Attendre, the general public should hear the wide scope that her voice is still capable of achieving: the soaring high notes (I Surrender) but also tender, soft moments (Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered). Modern day ballads such as Adele's Rolling in The Deep, Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love, and Beyonce's Halo should be reference points to create a modern English record that brings Celine Dion's untouchable talent to the forefront in 2013. With Rene still in good health as Celine's manager, he must take into consideration the opinions of longtime loyal and faithful fans, like myself, who have incredibly valuable outside perspective on Celine's career. We understand that Celine's priority is with family and her "day job" in Las Vegas. But this new English record IS THE TIME to get it right and lay the groundwork for the longstanding duration of Celine Dion's career and legacy.

I feel as though Celine and her team are in touch with the direction of the music industry. Celine herself loves Adele and other current artists. Yet, there is a disconnect in communicating that understanding with her actual album material. It would be a tremendous shame to release an album of predictable covers (the Vegas songs) and middle-of-the-road pop songs. As the project continues onward, please let this ping with you: Celine Dion is still capable of releasing relevant material, as she and her team has clearly showcased in French over these past few months. All of the Vegas covers should be bonus to a solid album of brand new, cutting edge pop ballads sung by the strongest vocalist alive today: Celine Dion.

Please contact those fans who you can trust for assistance: Give us surveys, snippets of songs (even in the demo stages), possible album covers, etc. Not everyone on this site has perspective on where Celine needs to be headed (who praise anything Celine touches). But there are those of us with valuable opinions and are valuable assets. Thank you.

I think should have ''My Heart Will Go On'',"It's All Coming Back To Me Now" ,"To Love You More",I want you to need me'' and others .

I think it should have more songs of Celine on the list because Celine has many love songs.

Should have "To Love You More", "Immortality", "My Heart Will Go On," "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" among others.

I love everything Celine does whether she's on or off stage but off the top of my head songs with "love" in the lyrics..."To love you more", "Love doesn't ask why"..."Have you ever been in love"...and many more not mentioned...

Celine's ballads are one of the most best songs ever!

I Love You Celine,

I suggest "To Love You More" is another great song
that should be included on the Billboard Top 50 "Love" Songs of All Time.
