Host Michel Drucker was the first one to interview Celine on French television back in 1983, which marked the beginning of their long time friendship. During an interview with Journal de Montréal, Michel Drucker remembers meeting a shy young 16-year-old Celine with a golden voice. From the first moment he knew Celine would have a great career. Michel also shared a story about Celine’s professionalism and generosity. He recalls that after seeing her perform at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, he sent a congratulatory note to Celine and René. He also asked if Celine would participate in his Christmas special later that year. Much to his surprise, Celine and René agreed to appear on the show. Celine performed seven songs and blew everyone away!
