Celine Dion: Dion chante Plamondon
Release date: Mon, Nov 4th, 1991
‘Dion Chante Plamondon’ showcases Celine’s powerful voice as she interprets songs of Luc Plamondon, famous French-Canadian lyricist. Included on this album are three songs from the fantastic rock-opera, ‘Starmania’, created by Luc Plamondon and his friend Michel Berger. Since then, ‘Starmania’ has been performed in Canada, France, and even Moscow. With this album, you will also discover some of Celine’s biggest French language hits, such as ‘L’amour existe encore’, ‘Un garcon pas comme les autres (Ziggy)’ and ‘Je danse dans ma tête’. This album was certified gold the same day it was released and became Celine’s first French-language album to be released worldwide.

On this relatively early album, Dion sounds as self-assured and mature as on her latter-day recordings as a world-class superstar, her voice exudes a passion beyond her young years, especially on the album's rocking opener, "Des mots qui sonnent." This album spans a wide musical spectrum, including the dramatic "Le fils de Superman," the funk-tinged "Je danse dans ma tête," the bluesy "Les uns contre les autres," and the mega-power ballad "Le blues du businessman."

This was a special moment in Celine Dion's career, because she was still not very well known around the world. But you sense and feel throughout the songs that there is this unbelievable talent that you know will last forever!
